Premier receives UN Special Envoy on Youth

The Prime Minister, Anastase Murekezi, on Monday received in his office the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Ahmad Alhendawi.Speaking to the media after the meeting, the UN envoy said their discussion emphasized the collaboration between UN and Rwanda, adding that he has been impressed by the progress the country has achieved on different fronts. However, with the commitment we see here and energy of many people, I can say the future is promising. This is the very strong message on behalf of the UN to the people of Rwanda that the UN is together with you to take the development of this country to a new level,” he said. Alhendawi, who is visiting the country from July 16, was accompanied by Lamin M. Manneh, the UN Resident Coordinator in Rwanda, Minister for Youth and ICT, Jean Philbert Nsengimana and other officials from the One UN Family.Minister Nsengimana told the media that Alhendawi has appreciated Rwanda’s policy on youth and requested the country to share its systems with the rest of the world.
